We are passionate about occupational health physiotherapy.
We have worked onsite with one of the largest global blue chip companies for over 20 years and have extensive occupational health and ergonomics experience.
There has never been a time when the role of the occupational health physiotherapist in the workplace has been so vital. Worker’s with musculoskeletal disorders account for 49 per cent of sickness absence. Physiotherapists are extremely well placed to provide a vital role in supporting employees and employers.
Modern day workplaces can be demanding and health and safety in the workplace is of paramount importance. At United Health we are able to offer expert physiotherapy treatment together with ergonomic assessment skills. It is well recognised that work is important for physical health, mental health and well-being and a healthy and productive workforce is good for business.
There is a growing recognition that sickness absence management is best tackled by services that are proactive in promoting healthy lifestyles, preventing illness and include early access to appropriate interventions. Physiotherapists already follow this model by working at every stage of the care system, from offering preventative advice to providing therapy and rehabilitation and empowering individuals to maintain their own health.
Benefits of corporate physiotherapy include;
- Rapid physiotherapy intervention at the place of work with clinicians who understand and have direct access to workplace environments
- No travel times to clinics off site ensuring less time away from work
- Close monitoring of treatment and efficiency
- Close liaison with other occupational health professionals and managers
- Improved employee loyalty and positive regard
- Cost effective as expensive inter mediating companies are removed from the process.
As we are a small company we are able to offer very competitive rates for our services. We have links to other health care practitioners including clinical psychologists, occupational health nurses and occupational health physicians. If any of these services are required we can assist in the appropriate referrals.
Research shows the average ROI for workplace physiotherapy is £3 saved for every £1 invested in the service.
The government has announced the introduction of a tax relief for health related interventions. This relief will be implemented as a tax exemption for up to £500 per employee, per year. Qualifying treatment includes Physiotherapy (which is already tax-exempt) – this makes the use of such services even more cost effective for employers.
Health and Safety
If your company has five or more employees then The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 places a duty on you to have a written statement on Health and Safety. In order to comply with legislation your company has to;
- Risk assess workplace hazards
- Reduce any risk as far as that is reasonably practicable
- Provide training, including manual handling training to ensure that your staff has the necessary skills to perform their tasks safely.
We provide services which can help you meet these obligations.
Ergonomic Risk Assessment
We offer ergonomic risk assessments for production lines, warehouses, laboratories, workplace equipment, DSE/computer workstations and car/vehicle assessments. All assessments include;
- A consultation with the employee(s)
- An assessment of the work carried
- Advice and adjustments at the time of the assessment
- A detailed written report
- One month follow up contact after the assessment.
Manual Handling and Manual Handing Risk Assessment
We have extensive experience in manual handling and manual handling risk assessment. We also offer training and assessments in both of these areas.
